Since no-one "stepped up to the plate" to deliver a tee shirt for the WASC Accreditation (Western Association of Schools and Colleges) event, we're going to design and produce one as a class assignment. For the next three days, (Jan. 27-29, 2015) we're going to set aside the projects we're working on in class to knock out a design. I haven't figured out what a good incentive (reward) will be (beyond the admiration of your peers and bragging rights), but I want to open this up to get some recognition for our department and our students. If you have any ideas for incentives, please send me a message on the Contact page AND talk to me in class, so I can advocate for it to the WASC committee. Click HERE to view the entries.
All of the designs will be posted as a gallery on this page, (at the bottom of the page), so everyone who participates will be recognized. And everyone is participating, as you will also receive a grade for the assignment.
Parameters for the design:
*Always save the URL (web address) in Google Docs, so we can locate the artwork and pay for it, if need be. This avoids Copyright/Trademark infringement.
As is often the case, oftentimes a client either changes their mind, or doesn't give the Designer all the important information on the front end. This tee shirt is no different, which makes it even more "real-world" than ever. For the final, which you will save and reflect upon it on your blog, we need to remove any mention of WASC, as well as the year, 2015 – and, since GearUP is the sponsor, we need to add the GearUP logo to the design. Keep in mind GearUP need not be incorporated into the design, but rather just added, similar to the logos of sponsors on the back of 10k run tee shirts. Click here, or on the logo to the right, to download the GearUP logo. Remember to hold the shift key and do a "Save As"
